
Lehigh University is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Lehigh University’s accreditation status is accreditation reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status in 2018 was to reaffirm accreditation.
MSCHE is a global institutional accreditor recognized by the United States Secretary of Education since 1952. As an accreditor and member of the regulatory triad, MSCHE assures students and the public of the educational quality for its over 500 institutions of higher education. The Commission’s accreditation process ensures institutional accountability, self-appraisal, improvement, and innovation through peer review and the rigorous application of standards within the context of institutional mission.

As a member of Middle States Commission on Higher Education and to maintain accreditation, Lehigh participates in a comprehensive, evidence-based self-evaluation every eight years. Our current self-study process began Fall 2024 and will culminate in Fall 2026. In March 2027, the commission will meet to determine action regarding re-affirming accreditation.
