In most cases, equipment purchased by Lehigh University is the property of the University, regardless of the source of funding used to make the purchase (institutional funds, faculty discretionary accounts, federal or industry sponsor funds, gifts, etc.). Occasionally, however, sponsors will retain ownership of research equipment purchased by the University with sponsor funds. Under no circumstances will ownership of property purchased by the University be retained or held by individual University faculty or staff.
