The college tenure and promotion committees are responsible for recommending for or against promotion and/or tenure of any member of the college. Each college may have their own set of committee guidelines, which can be found in Section I of the Rules and Procedures of the Faculty. The college tenure and promotion committees are to make their own substantive and independent recommendation on whether or not a candidate merits tenure and/or promotion. The committees' recommendation on the merits of each case are to be based solely on the criteria as stipulated in section 2.2.1.5, i.e., excellence in teaching, research and scholarship, and service to the university, as well as on the promotion and tenure guidelines of the candidate's college and/or department.
